I think they mean from our view the right arm? Obviously it's (from her point-of-view) her left hand, from our point-of-view, her right hand, but anyone with any idea of human proportions will realize that at the angle her hand is coming in, there's no way her arm can do that.

It IS her left arm, but it still doesn't work. For it to work her arm should be cutting across her chest - in this picture, it dips down vertically. So like he says, she needs a 5 ft. double jointed arm to pull that off.

How painterly! These types of distortions go way back into history of oil portraiture. Too bad it wasn't carried off a little better.
